Manu Bhaker Wins India's First Medal at Paris Olympics in 10m Air Pistol Event

Paris, 22-year-old star shooter Manu Bhaker has secured India's first medal at the Paris Olympics, becoming the first Indian woman shooter to win an Olympic medal. She clinched the medal in the 10-meter air pistol event. In an interview with Jio Cinema, Manu shared how the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita helped her focus and stay calm during the final moments of the competition.

When asked about the pressure during her last shot, Manu said, “When I was taking my final shots, my focus was clear. I have been reading the Gita. During the last shot, what was going through my mind was to focus on my karma and not worry about the result.”

Manu had secured her spot in the finals on Saturday, and the final event took place on Sunday. Speaking about the wait for the final, she said, “After the qualification rounds were over, I was eagerly waiting for the final. The wait seemed endless. The final was on my mind every moment. The good thing was that there were many Indians around, which reduced the pressure a bit.”

With this historic win, Manu Bhaker has etched her name in the annals of Indian sports history, inspiring countless aspiring athletes across the nation.
